{"id":884,"date":"2016-03-18T08:35:13","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T08:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/?p=884"},"modified":"2016-03-18T08:43:19","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T08:43:19","slug":"the-csir-showcases-its-work-at-the-inaugural-south-african-business-incubation-conference-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/?p=884","title":{"rendered":"The CSIR showcases its work at the inaugural South African Business Incubation Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several enterprises supported by the CSIR\u2019s Biomanufacturing Industry Development Centre (BIDC) programme showcased their products at the inaugural South African Business Incubation Conference hosted by the Small Enterprise Development Agency at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 10-11 March 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is aimed at creating a platform where everything related to technology and business incubation can be discussed, shared and explored. <\/p>\n<p>When delivering the keynote address, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said the conference was an opportunity to share best practice, learn, generate ideas, strengthen cooperation and find common strategies to build South Africa\u2019s economy. \u201cOur National Development Plan (NDP) identifies support for small business development as critical in achieving faster, more inclusive growth to create the millions of jobs that our country needs. Most importantly, government will continue to direct resources towards those activities that have the greatest potential to promote the growth of our economy and the development of our people,\u201d said Ramaphosa. <\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_890\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_1730.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-890\" src=\"http:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_1730-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-890\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_1730-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/biomanufacturing.csir.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_1730-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-890\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">CSIR BIDC\u2019s supported enterprise, Elvema Nutritions\u2019 Makekele Somo-Tladi, interacting with a delegate at the inaugural South African Business Incubation Conference <\/p><\/div>In line with the NDP, the BIDC programme provides product and technology development support to small businesses in the biomanufacturing sector. The phase I BIDC programme is funded by the Department of Science and Technology\u2019s Industry Innovation Partnership Fund and the National Treasury\u2019s Jobs Fund initiative.
